Feminist Family History in Eight Lives. The Podcast!
The Project
This podcast is a companion project to the graphic work in progress of the same name. In it, I reflect on my experience of doing family history and the side-lining of women’s lives in traditional genealogy. In response, I re-create the lives of my two grandmothers and six of my great-(great-great…) grandmothers across ten generations. The podcast is an opportunity, not only to give an account of their lives and some of the less conventional research methods I’ve been using, but also to interview some inspiring experts about their own work in this area.
I’m new to podcasting and it is a steep learning curve but offers exciting opportunities to talk to new audiences about history, feminism and research methods.
