The Dear Diary Illustrated Digital Archive presents curated, illustrated content from the 50 diary entries and 25 interview transcripts gathered as part of Dear Diary: equality implications for female academics from changes to working practices in lockdown and beyond (Carruthers Thomas 2022). This project investigated experiences of UK-based female academics working from home during the first 18 months of the COVID-19 pandemic and reflected on longer-term implications for gender equality and career progression in the higher education (HE) sector. The open access, interactive archive is the product of a cross-disciplinary collaboration between me and the web designer, Ben Robertson, who has also designed this site. Our design references an exhibition space, with a floorplan to assist navigation through a series of themed spaces or ‘galleries’ each of which maps and exhibits textual and visual material.
